MORE MUSIC LICENSING SUCCESS
My music video for "Shine" was just picked up for use with big-box retail stores like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Costco, etc. Watch for my face on screens in all your favorite stores this Fall!
It was this week in 1998 that I loaded up my beat up white Chevy cargo van and headed across the country. I had a futon mattress in the back and guitar hooks installed in the walls for my purple acoustic. I'll never forget the fear on my dad's face as I pulled out of the driveway. The idea that I would be sleeping in my van for two weeks must have terrified him! We weren't even off the Mass Pike before the van started making funny noises and it was pretty much ready to die by the time we made it to LA. I'll never forget sitting in traffic for hours in the desert outside of Las Vegas with no air conditioning. Windows down, Bob Marley blasting, we were so young the heat didn't bother us at all. I remember sticking my bare feet out the window and tucking my hair up into my Jamaican cap as I belted out the words to "One Love. Another memorable highlight was street performing in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We sang all day, then headed to a rooftop bar to spend the money we made on margaritas. We decided to stay in Santa Fe for a few days after we realized the ticket for parking overnight on the streets was only $5. We weren't so lucky in places like Oklahoma City where the cops pounded on the van windows and told us " You can't sleep in your car here. Get moving". We moved to a hotel parking lot and when I got out to tinkle, I found a hundred bucks blowing around under my feet. That was a special day. We spent that as fast as we found it! I wrote my first song "Fallen in Again" when I got to LA. And I've never looked back!
Great news! I recently had a well-known LA producer/publisher sign my song "I Might Say I Do." Excited to see where it goes from here! I'm working on some children's songs at the moment. HA!!!!!! Who would have thought two years ago that I'd be singing about macaroni and cheese? I'm a happy girl.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
As 2013 comes to an end, I look back and think of how grateful I am for this past year. It was such an amazing and fulfilling year for me on so many levels. I released my "Deep Down Damned" album and have been gaining traction on it all year. I have played so many shows, made so many new fans and have had so much fun all year. I couldn't be more thankful for my fans who have supported me and my music, and who continue buying my music. On a personal note, I have enjoyed a year filled with love and family. I am so lucky to have such supportive parents and siblings, as much as I may drive them crazy. My younger sister Candice still continues to inspire me every day and I am so grateful she is being cared for so well at her group home. I still love our Saturdays at the mall and will never forget when she took me to Taco Bell for my birthday in July. This past year, I have also had the pleasure of mentoring a lovely 15-year old girl named Paige, with whom I've ridden rollercoasters, carved pumpkins and gone ice skating on. With 2014 upon us, I am thrilled to say I am expecting a little one on my own. I'll be slowing down with live shows for a brief spell, but I will continue to write, record and work to get my songs licensed and cut. I look forward to an exciting 2014 and wish you a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
STOMPING, SWEARING AND HOOTING
Amazing show last night at Damien's in Hanson!! There was stomping, swearing, hooting and hollering. Lots of songs and lots of fun folks singing along. My last set featured a couple of new friends backing me up with guitars and a drum box, which everyone loved. Can't wait to come back next year!! Thanks Damien!
My favorite season is finally upon us, which means bikinis, barbecues and tailgating at country shows. Yay! Have you checked out my new merchandise. Click on the link above and give it a whirl. I hope to see you at a show real soon!
DO SOMETHING GOOD
Next Thursday, May 23rd I will be singing at the Building a Dream Gala to benefit the Charles River Center. The Charles River Center helps over 500 disabled citizens to live and work independently - including my darling sister Candice. Thanks to Charles River Center, Candy lives in a gorgeous home (you'd be jealous if you saw it!!) with 4 of her peers and is cared for amazingly by many dedicated staff. Not only do they dress her, feed her, bathe her and care for her, but they take her to to mall, the movies and even brought her to my CD Release Party in Downtown Boston. During the weekdays, Candy attends a day program also managed by Charles River Center, where she does arts & crafts, plays bingo and has physical therapy. The gala is a wonderful event and I encourage you to clink on the link below to show your support. And you can bid on auction items - like a live performance by me - at the event!!
STAY STRONG BOSTON
It has been such a crazy and scary week here in Boston. So many friends and loved ones have been directly affected by the Marathon bombings, and others who were not directly affected were certainly emotionally affected. I'm actually glad I had no shows this week, as I don't know how I could have pout on a happy face and enteretained an audience. Boston you are in my prayers. Stay strong.
I GOT AN AWARD. WOOHOO!
I won an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Great American Song Contest for my song "Deep Down Damned". If you haven't heard the song yet, join my mailing list for a free download.
MOTHER NATURE HATES US
Seriously, what is up with mother nature!? What did we ever do to you?? OK, I guess we could have treated the earth a little better, but can we please get to Spring already? Yes, I am a brat and have a lovely garage for my car, but I worry about people like mom and dad and everyone else having to shovel themselves out every time it snows. And lugging your guitar and amp around in a sleet storm is not fun. Ever. Sunday night at The Middle East was awesome! What a great crowd and what a fun show. Special thanks to Mike from Margaret Thatchr for inviting me to play. If you like fun rock shows, you have to check these guys out. They are awesome.
JEWEL & HOLLY WILLIAMS
Last night I took my little sister Candice to see Jewel and Holly Williams (daughter of Hank Williams Jr.) at The Wilbur Theatre in Boston. It was an incredible show and I cannot say enough good things about Holly Williams. Her song "Waiting on June" about her grandparents during the war era had me in tears. The weather was torrential, as seems to be the trend lately. Pushing Candy in her wheelchair thru Downtown Boston while trying to hold an umbrella over her head in a tsunami is not easy! But alas, the only casualty was one of Candy's sparkly shoes floating down Stuart Street never be s.een again. Of course, I don't know which entertained her more - losing the shoe or seeing the show! She had an amazing time and I'm so glad I took her. Definitely one of the best Christmas presents ever, according to her!
BACK TO MY ROOTS AT THE BURREN
The Burren last night was packed and so much fun! Everyone came out to support me and the stage felt great. We probably shouldn't have closed the place (thanks Hugh), but the pizza in the North End at 3am was quite tasty and really hit the spot. Special thanks to Tom Bianchi for putting me on! If you haven't checked out the Burren's "Back Room Series" you should definitely stop by some Sunday night. The music is always great and there is never a cover charge.
I LOVE A GOOD ROAD TRIP
What an amazing weekend! The show at Mocha Maya's in Shelburne Falls was so fun. If you haven't heard Ashley Jordan, you need to hear this girl sing. I'm still bookings loads of new shows and excited to share my music with you. Happy March!!!
I RELEASED A CD THIS WEEKEND!
My CD Release Party at The Estate was unbelievable. Thank you to all my fans, friends and family who came out. One of the best surprises of my night was my little sister Candy coming out to surprise me. You can hear her singing a little on the song below.
